We are delighted to announce that four members of the Edgars team have begun their Chartered Town Planning Apprenticeship at London Southbank University this week, and our fifth apprentice starting her final year in a business management degree through our local College and Oxford Brookes. We now have a third of our team in an apprenticeship scheme, highlighting our belief in the value of investing in the future of the profession and the staff.
Having been part of the RTPI trailblazer group developing the apprenticeship over the past 2 years, it is fantastic that four members of the team are able to benefit and become part of the first cohort to train through this method. Through learning on the job, with support in the workplace with colleagues and through the academic training at LSBU creating future talent for the profession and our business growth.
Victoria Hills, the RTPI Chief Executive and advocate for the scheme has said the apprenticeship degree “makes this exciting profession accessible to many more people who might not have considered it before”. This is certainly the case for Edgars wishes all the success to Amy, Joe, Darcey and Sam as they undertake the first steps towards professional recognition, and Lois in her final year studies.
