Cherwell District Council have approved a Community Involvement Paper for a new district-wide Local Plan Review to undergo consultation. The Consultation is running until Monday 14th September 2020.
The Paper aims to engage communities, partners and stakeholders to help identify and examine the social, environmental and economic issues that the District faces. It identifies three overarching key themes:
- Maintaining and developing a sustainable local economy;
- Meeting the challenge of climate change; and
- Healthy place-shaping.
The Local Plan Review will make site specific allocations for both housing and employment. To inform these allocations, the Council are inviting site submissions through its ‘Call for Sites’ process and are also inviting comments on a Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report.
The Community Involvement Paper also outlines the programme for the preparation of the 2040 Plan, which is shown in the table below:
